Curling means curling the edges of sheet metal parts. This type of curling will be used in many sheet metal fabrication plants, just as curling must be practiced in safety tool cabinets. Riveting increases the strength and stiffness of the structure, thus making it lighter and stronger. There are many ways of crimping, including wire crimping and hollow crimping. So how do you carry out this type of hemming? I'll tell you how it should be carried out in the following section.
Before riveting and pressing, you must measure the length of the wire and also estimate the length of the printed paper curl, this is also to be able to guarantee the quality of the curl. Only at the end of the estimation can the actual operation of the hemming strip be carried out. The following are the main practical operations.
1. Draw two curl curves on the blank: L1 = 2.5*curl diameter L2 = (1/4?1/3)*L1
2. Place the stopper on the platform (or square iron, slide, etc.) so that the exposed platform specification corresponds to L2. Press the stopper with the right hand and subsequently tap the edge of the platform with the head of a hammer. Bend it with the left hand to 85?90°.
3. Widen and bend the blank until the edges of the platform are aligned with the ends of the second roll curve, i.e. the exposed platform corresponds to L1, and the edge of the first cutter is placed on the platform.
4. Rotate the blank so that the curved edge is facing upwards and tap the curved edge gently and evenly so that it bends, so that part of the curl slowly becomes rounded.
5. Place the wire in the crimping line and gradually from one end to avoid the wire suddenly popping out, buckle up one end first, then place a section of the loop in place for a period of time, after the loop is in place, tap gently so that the crimped edge is close to the wire.
6. Rotate the stopper so that the socket rests on the edge of the platform, followed by gentle tapping to keep the socket firmly in place with its teeth.
